The Ball State Cardinals commenced the Mid-American Conference portion of their 2011-2012 basketball season schedule this weekend with a solid performance against the Western Michigan University Broncos at Worthen Arena in Muncie in front of a reasonably sized crowd. The Cards were missing a couple of key players due to slight injuries, yet looked competent nonetheless, leading the Broncos throughout the entire contest. Though they have had a relatively easy schedule so far this season (except for the Arizona game in the early season which they led until the later minutes of the game), they’ve acquired an 8-4 record. With the first third of the season now in the books, they have a good chance of hitting the 20 victory mark which will inevitably put them in the “Big Dance” this March.
Go Cards!
