For the last 3 or 4 weeks, I’ve experienced definite problems with my “plumbing.” As I was due for a visit to my Doctor, I informed him of my dilemma at my appointment last Thursday. They did the standard blood work, but he stressed an emphasis on prostate function with a section called PSA.
He called me back the next day from his home to inform me that my PSA level was extremely high, and that it most certainly indicated prostate cancer. He referred me to a specialist, who I saw today, and they’ve scheduled me for a prostate biopsy next Wednesday.
I dread the upcoming “procedure” more than any disease that could possibly come my way. This is the most intense anxiety I’ve ever experienced, and I’ve always had a high level of anxiety, dating back to my High School days!
Would really be interested in talking to other men who’ve gone through this, as it may help to put things in perspective. This entire ordeal has sprung up quickly and has already “rocked my world!”
Hoping for the best, but expecting the worst!
