Holy Cow!

The Chicago Cubs have made it to the World Series for the first time since 1945. It’s been since 1908 since they’ve won a World Series, but this is the Cubs year as they dominated the league all season long. If only Harry Caray could be around to witness this!

I’ve been a Cubs fan since 1979, the days of Dave “Kong” Kingman and reliever Lee Smith. I vividly remember 1983, the year I moved to Dallas, Steve Garvey with the San Diego Padres put Ryne Sandberg (my favorite player) and the Cubs out of the playoffs. Though they’ve had a few appearances in the playoffs since then, this is definitely the year for the Cubs to go all the way.

If they don’t pull it off this year, could it be another 108 years til another shot?
