With the recent climactic World Series victory for the Cubs and the current record-setting season for the Cowboys which seems to point to another set of Super Bowl rings in Dallas, it appears that the sports gods are smiling down on my teams.

My NFL Quandry
When I was a youngster and the Super Bowl was still a new experiment, the Minnesota Vikings were my favorite team. They seemed unbeatable, had admirable players and the coolest uniforms. I remember how surprised and disappointed I was to see them lose Super Bowl IV to the AFL champion Kansas City Chiefs.

The Ball State Cardinals commenced the Mid-American Conference portion of their 2011-2012 basketball season schedule this weekend with a solid performance against the Western Michigan University Broncos at Worthen Arena in Muncie in front of a reasonably sized crowd. The Cards were missing a couple of key players due to slight injuries, yet looked competent nonetheless, leading the Broncos throughout the entire contest. Though they have had a relatively easy schedule so far this season (except for the Arizona game in the early season which they led until the later minutes of the game), they’ve acquired an 8-4 record. With the first third of the season now in the books, they have a good chance of hitting the 20 victory mark which will inevitably put them in the “Big Dance” this March.

Little Giants Rule – November 2011
Earlier this Fall, Dad and I ventured to C’ville for the Homecoming matchup between his Alma Mater Wabash and Kenyon College which turned into an extremely lopsided event in favor of the Little Giants. We left at the beginning of the second half when the score was 42 – 0 (or close) and found out the final score was not much different from that. We instead took advantage of the gorgeous Indiana autumn Saturday to traverse his old haunts on the Wabash campus. If only I would have remembered to bring the camera!
